ExpertMapper not only finds experts, it also finds articles written by experts.
You can see all the articles about a given topic by clicking on the World Articles tab. The title of a sub-tab tells you how many articles there are. Actually, ExpertMapper will show a maximum of 500 articles.
The World Articles tab shows the articles for the entire world. By contrast, the Find Experts tab can show you articles written by a single expert, or articles written in a single geographic location.
Unless there are very few articles, they are usually spread over more than one page. A pop-up menu lets you choose which page of articles to see. The page will change as soon as you make a choice in the menu.
Each article is visible in two views. The first view shows 5 things about an article:
To see the second view, click on an article's title. The second view pops down. It shows:
Most articles are not available on the web for Free.
ExpertMapper tells you which are free by putting Free! after the article's title, or by telling you free full text next to the article's Pubmed number (in the second view).
To see the article's text, click on Free! or free full text. A new "Pubmed" window will open.
This new window should have a "Full text" link that will bring up the article's text. You may have to hunt a bit for the link, and you may have to make another click or two in other windows.
Publishers sometimes stop making an article free, or mistakenly inform Pubmed whether an article is free. So do not be surprised if ExpertMapper is wrong in saying that a particular article is free.
