Abstract: Rheumatoid arthritis and periodontitis are widely prevalent diseases and are characterized by tissue destruction due to chronic inflammation. Recently, there is growing evidence that the two diseases share many pathological features. This article reviews their clinical and biological links. However, there are only a limited number of studies in this area, which prevent us from offering clear evidence.
